I posted info on this single yesterday on DOA; I'm trying to find out what's going on with the Heist remix of "Witchcraft", but even the PR people are in the dark. I've got a feeling it'll be on a 12" (Witchcraft b/w Witchcraft (Heist Remix), but who knows...

Basic Operations Releases Lost Tapes Series

Coming up on 5 years after the official split of Basic Operations (the legendary US outfit) Atlantic Connection & Kevin Focus have come full circle revamping the project and releasing a collection of previously unreleased material.
“The Lost Tapes” series features those tunes you heard, wanted but could never get your hands on. Tracks like “Drifting on an Aspect VIP” (the original being featured on Liquid V’s first Club Sessions EP) which graced the sets of DJs like A.I, Bailey & CPF for years after the original release to “Keep on Dreaming” which was originally slated for Hospital Records but pulled last minute as Basic Ops split without notice.
Another heavy hitter was “New Dawn”, originally signed to Metalheadz, a rare cut only a select few of the top tier DJ’s ever had a copy of; and the massive “Since I’ve Seen You” which stayed on LTJ Bukems playlist for almost a year but never saw an official release.
These and more are being released in the “Lost Tapes” series with Volume One dropping Tuesday exclusively via bandcamp.com. If you ever wanted to get your hands on these gems; now’s the time, the guys aren’t even sure they’ll leave these up for permanent download.
Watch out for brand new Basic Operations tracks; the dubplates are ready and going out to your favorite DJs soon.

I first heard A-Sides drop this, then Bailey played it on his recent show. With World Cup fever right now, this is definitely a stomper. Here's the press info: "Detail Recordings' second release, '433', is a DnB football anthem shocker! Lynx & Hellrazor's take on a football anthem is very different to the normal 3 note beer swilling sing along. Opting for an African tribal number, cleverly using football clap rhythms for that familiar football sound. Introducing... DJ Manik
Born in Philly, reared in Trenton, NJ, and traveller of worldwide beats, DJ Manik is fast becoming one of my favorite associates. I recently got introduced to him through a friend via a shared appreciation for London Elektricity's "Different Drum"... and through the insane Bmore banger "Fuck You Buddy". In building with homey more, I found out that he not only appreciates DnB, but is a dope DJ, although other genres pay the bills...On the flipside, PhillyDnB.com is kickin' their Internet radio game back into gear, and I was told I could do a show if I wanted. I'm no DJ, so I was racking my brain, trying to figure out how I wanted to do this. Finally realized I'd at least need a superb DJ to handle mixing, and Manik was the ideal choice. So, our currently untitled show will be premiering on PhillyDnB.com at some later date! Want to bring back a little bit of what I think DnB radio is missing - be that a nerd and a DJ bantering about whatever, or just some classic tunes that need to be brought back... I'm not sure. We'll figure that out on our journey, and of course I'll keep you lot posted on this.

Panda presents DJ Sappo. Hailing from Manchester, DJ Sappo has been one of the front runners in Drum & Bass for over a decade. Hosting a radio show on one of the most respected stations in Drum & Bass: BBC 1Xtra, he was able to weekly update listeners all around the world with the best new music. His creative ambitions have not limited itself to radio though: DJ Sappo produced music which has sold over 250,000 records on labels such as V Recordings, Emtoive, World Dance, Flex, Formation, Rinse Out and Frontline before he finally launched his own imprint Advisory Records on which we can find one name we know well at Panda D&B TV: Mutated Forms. In addition to radio and production, Sappo has played at numerous festivals and clubs all over the UK and Europe in front of huge crowds, including events such as Global Gathering, Fabric, Kinetic, Movement, Metropolis, SE1, Hysteria, Manchester's Warehouse Project and being part of the Massive 1Xtra Bass tour. Sappo is a Drum & Bass veteran and has been a holding a key role in putting Manchester on the Drum & Bass map.
