Knowledge x Seba Remix Competition
Via Knowledge:Swedish producer Seba (Sebastian Ahrenberg) has established a reputation as one of the finest purveyors of quality drum & bass over a distinguished career stretching back over 15 years. From his early tracks on LTJ Bukem’s ground-breaking label Good Looking Records to his more recent work across iconic labels such as Metalheadz, Soul:r and Hospital, Seba's music has retained a timeless appeal and brings together beats and bass in classic yet inimitable style.
Seba, Ableton, SoundCloud and Knowledge Magazine have joined forces for an exclusive remix competition of Seba's Painted Sky track, which came out on his own Secret Operations label in 2010.
"I would like to hear something new coming out of this track, but still keeping the same vibe. Keep it musical. It doesn't matter if it's heavy or dark or uplifting. The original track is quite musical, so I'd expect any remix of it to be the same."
The winning remix will receive Ableton Suite 8 (download) and a SoundCloud Pro Plus account, second place will win Ableton Live 8 (download) and a SoundCloud Lite account and the third runner-up takes home Ableton Live Intro (download) and a SoundCloud Lite account.
Deadline for entries is midnight on Sunday March 27th 2011.

QUMULUS - DIVINE INTERVENTION (2009 REWORK) by Qumulus
Initially made in 2007 and given a reworking in the later part of 2009, Divine Intervention featured heavily on the airwaves across a broad range of shows around the world.
This rework came about as a result of the need to bring the original, more melodic version up to date with stronger and heavier beats and a more driving bassline made for the clubs along with the original Pulp Fiction sample intact!
There were numerous offers to sign this track but eventually it was caught up in far too much bureaucracy to hold back forever. Sometimes, the only way to set music free is to simply give it away...

DnBeef: Twisted Individual vs. John B
Not sure how many of you remember Twisted Individual’s “Bandwagon Blues”, which was a slight to Distorted Minds for seemingly ripping off his bassline with their banger “T-10”, or if any of you remember John B’s “Blandwagon Poos”, which laughed at the whole bit. I hope some of you remember Twisted going on Grooverider’s show, with Rider going crazy and birthing sayings like “20%!” and “CUZ YOU ARE THE BIGGA MAN” (download HERE). For some reason, the two of these guys never hashed it out, until the other night – on Facebook, no less. You’d figure this would be more of a message board/forum pissing contest (and if this was 2004, it might have been), but Twisted starts to go in on the entire event, claiming that John B ran scared from him during a club night at the Winter Music Conference years back. John B hears word of this and starts to comment, and all kinds of things get brought up. I’m not choosing sides, just trying to document some proper DnBeef. And for many of you saying “don’t need that in our scene”, I can’t help it – some of the Soul that’s lost is in the personality department.Outside of all of this, check out my recent interview with John B over at Dogs On Acid, which has nothing to do with any of that.
