The original Horsemen concept was initially conceived by 4 minds coming together through one unifying vision. Those minds were of: Ink, Loxy, Keaton and Dylan. Carving out their own unique take on drum & bass. Fusing together specific elements that would form the fundamental cornerstones of the Horsemen sound: raw original sampled breaks, heavy sub bass and dub elements.

This style and concept has since seeped into the consciousness of a new wave of producers across the globe and has influenced and evolved into the sonics presented here on this album. Ink and Loxy in conjunction with Renegade Hardware are proud to present: Horsementality..
For this project the boundaries were pushed and the horizons broadened. Compromising 30 tracks and over 30 artists this album showcases the continuation of the Horsemen Mentality.

Featuring established and new artists in equal measure. Names such as: Ink, Loxy, Skitty, BTK, Gremlinz, Friske, Skeptical, Resound, Amoss, Pessimist, Stranjah, DBK, Overlook, Sam KDC, Blocks, Kaizen, Arclight, Sinistarr, Fade, Linden, Escher, J. Robinson, Getz XTM & Eddie Bo, DJ E, The Untouchables & Mental Forces, Fade & True Renegades. Resulting in a force to be reckoned with!
The album will be released as 3, 2x12” vinyl EP’s and digital bundle. The digital bundle will feature all 12 vinyl tracks plus an additional 18 digital exclusives.

"The First Note Is Silent" will be the first single from High Contrast new album, which is due out February 2012 on Hospital. The track is a superb demonstration of his ear for a good hook bringing in the talents of stadium trance maestro Tiësto and legendary UK electronic outfit Underworld.

Expect soaring, feel-good synths with the uplifting rush of Tiësto's trademark trance, euphoric piano keys, pounding drums and yearning polished vocals from Karl Hyde in "The First Note Is Silent", gelled together in with the expansive widescreen production for which High Contrast has become known.

Break always comes correct - loving "Hot Love", nice end of the year banger. Drops on Ram on the 7th of November.

‘Hot Love’ leads the way, opening with lightly euphoric synths and gradually building percussive elements. Soulful vocal snippets slide in and out of the mix, gently teasing you with the build up and it’s not long before Break lets the full force of his bassline hit you. As expected, it’s an absolute monster and there’s no doubt dance floors will be heating up and the crowd will be loving it whenever this track gets dropped.

Backing that up is ‘Breakfast’ - potentially Break’s tribute to the most important meal of the day, or maybe just a cheeky play on words; either way if you start your day with these crunchy breaks and a smattering of his classic Ram-style bassline, you’ll be bouncing down the street on your way to work! Echoed vocal samples and tribal percussion keep things interesting throughout as Break delivers yet another timeless drum & bass track for your aural digestion.
