Singapore's Kiat was interviewed by everyday junglist, and gave away a pack of 7 tunes that were "just ideas [he] had for tunes but didn't really send out to any labels for reasons unknown to [him]self". I highly recommend you take a gander at those tracks and see why labels like Vampire, Tech:Noir, Function and others are diggin' his style. Cuts like "Ringside" and "Less Sugar" get me going...

For as many times as I hear DnB heads say things like "there's no good DnB out there", I want to smack them in the face with wax that I get sent from producers and DJs. Sinistarr's "Leeroy Jenkins" was originally lined up to drop on Fabio's Creative Source, but ended up being release recently on Influence. And it's the truth. Check my review of this 12" for DOA:

Detroit's Sinistarr is a producer who has been making some noise in a few circles, most notably with ''Leeroy Jenkins'', an excursion into a funky, bleep-fueled zone. While this one comes off as being minimal, the deeper you get into the subtle intricacies, you realize how many sounds are being touched upon in this cut. It's a tune that can truly sneak up on you, and you not realize how fresh it is until you’re already on the floor, captivated by the waist-winding bass. With ''Nixed'', Sinistarr pulls out the perfect compliment: while this cut maintains the sonic feel established with ''Leeroy Jenkins'', the bass in this one drops lower, and harkens back to decade’s old DnB. What's fresh is that this cut straddles some darker tendencies, while still managing to stay bright and nonchalant. Really promising piece of vinyl from this young wonder.

You can cop this 12" via the DOA store, or over at Chemical Records. My suggestion is that you just cop it. I don't like putting my stamp on just anything, but this guy has got talent (Horizons Music just snapped up a cut of his for an LP sampler), and its a shame to see people who want fresh DnB not know what fresh DnB is out there.
